When you use the Timeline Builder you may enter personal information including:
- Names and nationalities of both applicants
- A visa application reference number
- Dates and descriptions of trips, accommodation, money transfers, and other contact
- Free-text notes and statements
This information is sensitive. The Timeline Builder is designed so it never leaves your device.
If you submit a bug report, feature request, or feedback via the Feedback & Bug Reports page, you may also provide:
- An email address (required)
- A title and description of the issue
- An optional screenshot
- Browser and device information collected automatically from your browser
Your Timeline Builder data is saved only to your browser's localStorage — storage that exists entirely within your browser on your own device. It is not synced to any cloud service and is not accessible to this website or anyone else.
You can export your data at any time as a .json save file using the Timeline Builder. You can delete all stored data by clearing your browser's site data for this origin, or by using the clear function within the app.
Feedback submissions are a different matter: they are processed on the server and filed as public GitHub issues in this tool's repository. The issue body includes your report title, description, browser information, and email address. Anyone with access to the repository can read this information. If you attach a screenshot, it is uploaded to the same public repository.
When you generate a PDF, your data is sent to the server hosting this application. The server processes the data and returns the rendered PDF directly to your browser — no copy of your data is retained after the response is sent.
The PDF is downloaded directly to your device.
This tool uses the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts — the page loads two typefaces (Playfair Display and Source Sans 3) from Google's font CDN. This is a standard network request; Google may log your IP address per their own privacy policy. No personal data you enter into the tool is involved.
- GitHub — feedback submissions are filed as issues in a public GitHub repository. The report contents, including your email address and any screenshot you attach, are publicly visible. GitHub's privacy policy governs how that data is handled on their platform.
- Email — when you submit a feedback report, a confirmation email is sent to the address you provided. Your address is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with any third party beyond what is included in the GitHub issue.
There are no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or error-tracking services.
This tool sets no cookies. It does not use session storage, IndexedDB, or any tracking mechanism beyond the localStorage described above. There is no user account system.
Because no data is collected or stored by this service, there is nothing held centrally to request, correct, or erase. All data exists only in your own browser storage and in any save files you have exported to your device.
To delete data stored by this tool, clear site data for this origin in your browser settings, or use your browser's developer tools to remove the relevant localStorage keys.
